Oral cancer claims thousands of victims every year, but most people aren’t aware of the condition until it is too late. Symptoms of oral pathology include:

ViziLite Advanced Screenings

Most dental offices offer visual oral cancer screenings, but we take it a step further. We implement advanced oral cancer screenings using the ViziLite system, a product that helps pinpoint abnormal tissues still in the pre-cancerous stages. Early diagnosis means more successful treatment outcomes for our patients.

Who is at risk for developing oral cancer?

Traditionally, risk factors for oral cancer included tobacco and alcohol use. As research has progressed, scientists and dentists have also found that HPV plays a tremendous role in the development of oral cancers as well. This has increased the rate of oral cancer in young adults in their 30’s. Even then, some patients that do not have any risk factors whatsoever have still be found to develop oral cancer. That’s why routine screenings with a dentist are so important.
